Examining human life through the lens of contemporary society
We study various themes and topics in contemporary society. Our inquiry is wide-ranging and includes specific topics such as: individualization, risk society, religion, welfare systems and theory, civil society, inequality and poverty, bioethics, criminal sociology, capitalism and emotion, suicide. We employ a broad range of empirical research methods including interviews, questionnaire surveys, and media content analyses. In addition, we engage in the theoretical interrogation of sociological theories.
