Probing the constitution of society through a variety of contemporary themes

Research Topics
■ In Contemporary Society and Social Theory we study various themes and topics of contemporary society from a sociological perspective, while also applying social/sociological theories. We investigate the formation of a society through the analysis and discussion of various contemporary phenomena and undertake sociological research using broad theoretical and empirical perspectives. The faculty members work on research topics such as religion, community design, bioethics, and human rights, and our graduate students work on diverse research topics such as migration, sociological theory/history, and rational choice theory.
